Fire Exhange And Goverment Buildings On Fire

Monday

Gotta say it was the most boring P-day I had yet. The other Elders had to go to the offices, so we were just stuck inside figuring out what to do. Well... the answer is nothing besides eating junk and lots of sleeping. When we got out proselyting, we had this lesson with this bro named Cesar, who got really upset at us for having to cancel our last lesson with him. So we scheduled a very firm lesson with him this night, and well, he ended up not being home haha.

Tuesday

We had district council, but all the churches were closed, so we had it in this park and rode some see-saws until the district showed up. Apparently, we weren't supposed to be riding them though (whoops). We then had this lesson with this girl named Brigit, and we brought a member named Hermelinda there. It's interesting because we kind of need to start from the very beginning, explaining who Jesus even is. Honestly, a great opportunity to reflect on my personal testimony as well. We finished the lesson, and I had to help the member stand up. Brigit called her fat, and the member didn't take it well, saying that she was just in bad shape and that Brigit was the fat one. Shoot. We then finished the night by teaching Hermana Basilia about church because she's getting baptized soon but still hasn't gone.

Wednesday

Pretty normal day. As we were walking to a lesson, we got stopped by this bro in a car to preach to his son sitting inside. He had lots of questions, which we answered until this other lady showed up selling candy to us. Elder Hone made the bold move to teach her as well (I'm so proud). I noticed as we began teaching her, the kid in the car started filming us and then low-key gave us a little feedback when we finished. Super random. Then we finished that night with a mini Noche de Hogar with Hermelinda, which started an hour late, but we had a good, simple lesson about the Atonement, so I'd say it went well.

Thursday

We had little virtual interviews with President. Always a good motivator to do better. We also had a lesson with Victor, who's getting baptized soon. Only problem is they like going to a different ward, which is something we need to change. Most of the day was spent on the other side of the hill compared to where we live, trying to build up the area and meet with members. The day was pretty slow-paced but still went well.

Friday

Today we had exchanges with the ZLs, and I got a taste of trio life with Elder Zampedri from Arizona and Spores from England, who are some of the funniest people I know. The exchange was absolutely fire. We had a service project for most of the day painting the inside of a member's house and just exchanged all of our lore with each other as we were doing so, and then took hard flicks with the member's chickens when we finished. We only had about three hours to work, but we worked like animals, talking to legit everyone we passed and taking turns contacting them between the three of us. It was interesting to hear an English-Spanish accent from Elder Spores. We found lots of people and had really good lessons. We ended the night going to the unfinished top floor of their building, eating pizza, and talking about life until we had to go to bed.

Saturday

The exchange was good, but I missed my area/trainee, so it was good to reunite again. When we got to work, we met with this part-member inactive family, and the daughter named Lucy apparently was telling the members she wants to be baptized. Thankfully, I know two really good-looking Elders who can help with that, so we had a solid lesson about baptism and put her on date. The rest of the day, our ward mission leader came with us for the night. Literally half the people we met with that day want to get baptized but need to marry their partner first but can't because the government building where they get their birth certificate burned down. I'm not even lying; that was the situation for three different couples all in the same day. Let's slow down with burning down government buildings, people.

Sunday

Really chill day. We got some important people to church, which was awesome. One of them being Basilia, who's getting baptized in a few weeks! Last second, Elder Hone told me that we were filling in teaching for the second hour. I was pretty adamant about not doing it, especially because we needed to talk to our friends after sacrament, but thankfully our ward mission leader filled in. Well, then he talked a little TOO much about the Pearl of Great Price and the Egyptian images. How do you even get there in the first place? The topic was about the Holy Spirit! We should've just filled in because our friends were pretty confused/concerned. It's all good, though. After, the Hermanas had a baptism, and then we just had a chill rest of the day working and completing our goals. Solid day.

Spiritual thought: I've been studying a ton about the Spirit this week, and it's been awesome! It's so cool how Heavenly Father gifts us the Holy Spirit (a literal God!) to be with us our whole life after we're baptized. I've been trying to look for the blessings the Holy Spirit gives me in my day-to-day life, and it's made me grow a better appreciation for the gift that God has given me through my baptism.

Thanks for tuning in! Say your scriptures and read your prayers. Until next time.
