Monday

Pretty chill. We didn't meet up as a district today, so we just shopped, cleaned, and took naps. The highlight was definitely virtually tuning in for Luke's engagement. Let's go!

Tuesday

In the morning, we received transfer news aaaaand... nothing changes. Like, literally, I'm pretty sure President ran outta time for this one because, across the whole mission, lots of people are staying. I'm hyped for another go with Elder Hone, though. The rest of the day was chill and filled with meetings. That night, we met up at the church with Basilia and our DL for her interview. While that was going down, Elder Hone and I got invited to help in an English class that was being taught. I just sat at a table with a bunch of kids, and they tested how much Peruvian slang I know. Just gotta say, I passed with flying colors. And so did Basilia with her baptismal interview!

Wednesday

Pretty slow day in the beginning, but that night we had Basilia's baptism! She's such a wholesome person and said that she felt so happy when she got baptized. It's even cooler because they baptized her husband not too long ago, so now they are ready to take steps forward together in growing their relationship with Heavenly Father. Super awesome day!

Thursday

Spent the morning with Elder AviƱo while Elder Hone was grabbing his carnet in Lima. Pretty chill—he helped out with the video call lesson we had, and it went super well. Met back with Hone, and we headed to Carlos and Joaquin. These people are awesome! Carlos found us last week and is so willing to make changes to accept the Gospel—and his son Joaquin too. We invited them to a ward volleyball activity that night, but when we showed up, I guess it got canceled. Brutal. We were about to leave when we got asked to help with English class again, haha. We were there for a bit until Elder Hone started feeling really sick, so we had to get to the apartment early. Holy cow—bro went through it, throwing up the entire night with a severe stomach ache. He thinks it's because he ate an entire Little Caesars pizza that morning and got food poisoning. Be careful out there.

Friday

Puking came to a stop, but the stomach ache was still severe, so we couldn't leave that day. I just decided to sleep in and do nothing all day since we couldn't leave. PSYCH! Pretty sure I made over 100 phone calls that day, asking people who reached out to us forever ago if they were still interested. Surprisingly, I found a tiny bit of success from it. Although, I did get sick of phone calls at one point and started yelling at people out of our third-floor window if they wanted to hear a message. It didn't work. We also did some video calls with some friends who we have on date that went really well. As boring as the day was, we still got lots of good stuff done. I definitely felt more empathetic for the COVID missionaries who served.

Saturday

Elder Hone got better—perfect timing, because today we got to travel to Lima and watch the Tabernacle Choir concert. It was wild seeing so many missionaries there. I even saw Crazy Carolina from my last area, and she stood up yelling and blowing kisses at me across the concert with hundreds of people in between, haha. The concert was so cool, though! One of our ex-APs got to perform in this little play thing, and it was awesome. Definitely a day to remember. Probably my favorite part was when we all started singing I Am a Child of God together. It was super powerful!

Sunday

Carlos, his wife Paloma, and Joaquin showed up to church! Huge miracle, and they loved it too because our church doesn't have any idols, haha. Huge win. Super chill day. We visited this inactive mom with her family, and they are super fun people (plus they give us food, which is a win), and we had a good, simple lesson with them. We also visited the Borja family, and Mau and Christina got married! All we need to wait for now is Mau's work schedule to change so he can go to church and get baptized.

Spiritual Thought:

I've been reading about Joseph and the dream coat lately (don't ask me how I got caught up in the Old Testament), and I love the integrity and faith that he has. Every bad situation he faced, he never blamed God and just made the best of it. Lots of times, trusting in God's will isn't super easy to do, but we just need to put our faith into action and make the best with what we have through the hardships until we see the miracles.

Thanks for tuning in! Hope everyone has a great week! Read your scriptures, say your prayers, and until next time—peace out.
